As part of the ongoing Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and his family paid prayers at the well-known Lalbaugcha Raja Ganpati on Saturday. Shah also met with state BJP leaders and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Amit Shah, his son, ICC Chairman Jay Shah, and his family members are seen in the pandal show completing rites and receiving blessings from Mumbai’s famous Lalbaugcha Raja, which draws thousands of devotees each year. He was accompanied by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Shah got to Mumbai on Friday night, and on Saturday he met Shinde. According to news agency PTI, he met Shinde at the state government’s Sahyadri Guest House in south Mumbai, where he also spoke with Atul Limaye, the joint general secretary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Maharashtra BJP president Ravindra Chavan, and recently appointed Mumbai BJP chief Ameet Satam.

Later, he proceeded to CM Fadnavis’ official residence, Varsha. As part of his yearly ritual, he then took his family to the renowned Lalbaugcha Raja Ganesh pandal. Videos show the Home Minister, surrounded by partygoers and his family, caressing the Ganesh idol’s feet and presenting flowers.

The Home Minister joined the throngs of worshippers who flock to the pandal throughout the holiday season to offer prayers and have ‘darshan’ of Lord Ganesh. Additionally, Shah is expected to visit the Ganesh pandals in Andheri East and Bandra West. Amit Shah, meanwhile, shared images of himself and Deputy CM Eknath Shinde from his visit to CM Fadnavis’ home on his official X account.

On August 27, Ganesh Chaturthi, also called Vinayak Chaturthi, marked the start of the 10-day Ganeshotsav celebrations. The devotion of Lord Ganesha is observed throughout this time of year. Lalbaugcha Raja is among the most well-known of the several Pandals in the nation. Everyone, including politicians and movie stars, swarms to this famous pandal to offer prayers.
