Amitabh Bachchan has extended his support to Rani Mukerji ahead of the release of her upcoming film Mardaani 3. On Wednesday, the veteran actor took to X, formerly Twitter, to share the film’s recently unveiled trailer and sent his best wishes to the entire team. Keeping his message brief, Amitabh wrote, “T 5632(i) – my very best wishes,” alongside the trailer post.
The gesture quickly caught the attention of fans, who responded with excitement in the comments section. Several users expressed their eagerness to watch the film, while others praised Rani Mukerji’s performances in the previous installments of the franchise. Many viewers said they were already looking forward to the third chapter, having enjoyed the earlier films.
Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji share a long professional association, having worked together in multiple films over the years. The two appeared together in titles such as Veer-Zaara, Bunty Aur Babli, Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna and Baabul. They also shared the screen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black, which remains one of their most critically acclaimed collaborations. Additionally, Rani made a special appearance in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, while Amitabh featured in a cameo role in her film Paheli.
Mardaani 3 marks the third instalment in the popular franchise, with Rani reprising her role as fearless police officer Shivani Shivaji Roy. The film follows her mission to combat crime against women. The recently released trailer, running over three minutes, shows Shivani racing against time to rescue missing girls trapped in a child trafficking network, while confronting a powerful antagonist named Amma, played by Mallika Prasad.
Written by Aayush Gupta and directed by Abhiraj Minwala, Mardaani 3 is produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. The film also stars Janaki Bodiwala and is scheduled to release in theatres on January 30.
