Amitabh Bachchan skips Sunday darshan at Jalsa; says he will meet fans soon

For decades, Amitabh Bachchan has maintained a heartfelt ritual of greeting admirers gathered outside his Mumbai residence, Jalsa, every Sunday. The weekly appearance has become a tradition, with the veteran actor often sharing glimpses of the interaction on his personal blog as a gesture of gratitude towards his supporters.

However, this Sunday was different. In a fresh post on Tumblr dated February 22, the actor informed fans that the customary gathering at the Jalsa gates would not take place. He noted that work commitments continued with intensity but the day concluded without the usual Sunday interaction. Expressing regret, he advised well-wishers to avoid travelling and conserve their energy, promising that he would meet them soon. His message carried a reflective tone, suggesting he would spend the day in quiet thought instead.

The Sunday darshan has long been viewed as Big B’s way of personally acknowledging the unwavering affection he has received over the years. Even recently, the actor made headlines when he invited a neighbour to his home for a meeting, underlining how seriously he values connecting with admirers.

On the professional front, Amitabh Bachchan is preparing for the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin. The upcoming film also features Prabhas and Kamal Haasan. For now, fans will have to wait another week to catch a glimpse of the superstar at Jalsa.
