Four UK nationals had kidnapped Mehul Choksi on 23rd May among which three of them are reported to be of Indian origin as claimed by fugitive jeweller Mehul Choksi’s legal team in London, post which he was taken to from Antigua and Barbuda to Dominica where the protection as a citizen of the country was enjoyed by him.
Giving a detailed account of one and a half months of alleged movement, the legal team led by lawyer Michael Polak said the four mentioned travelled from London to Antigua and Dominica. A complaint has been lodged with the Scotland Yard in the UK as said by Polak who represents an organisation named Justice Abroad offering legal services to “those detained abroad.”
The justice board said that to remove the protection that Mr. Choksi enjoys in Antigua was the aim of the alleged abduction, by the way of his right to appeal to the Privy Council in London, while claiming that Choksi’s family had approached them.
A UK national called Barbara Jarabic alias Barbara Jose flew to Antigua from London with another individual as Polak said addressing a press conference. Jarabic stayed in Dominica for a few days before coming back to Antigua, claimed by Polak.
Two adjacent villas were booked by Jarabic in Antigua on 8th May, specifically asking for premises with a jetty. A screenshot of her conversation with the owner of the villa was shown providing this as Polak added. According to him, people who abducted Choksi stayed in one of the properties while Arabic in the other.
