Amy Adams and Jenna Ortega to star in ‘Klara and the Sun’? Here’s what we know

Talks are underway for Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams to star in Taika Waititi’s forthcoming movie, Klara and the Sun, which is produced by Sony. Waititi is in charge of the adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel and has been involved with the project since the spring.

The InSnieder newsletter first reported Jenna Ortega’s involvement in the film, while Deadline confirmed Amy Adams’ casting.

Jenna Ortega has a hectic schedule, finishing shooting Beetlejuice 2 and preparing for filming the second season of Netflix hit Wednesday in the coming months. Furthermore, her feature film Miller’s Girl will be released in theatres on January 26. She had a starring role in Scream VI the year before and made waves by declining to star in the seventh instalment of the Spyglass franchise.

On the other hand, Amy Adams will star in Marielle Heller’s Nightbitch from Searchlight. Adams is an important figure in the industry, having received six Oscar nominations for her exceptional performances in movies such as Vice, The Fighter and Doubt.

Everything about Klara and the Sun 

In 2021, Ishiguro released Klara and the Sun novel, a story told from the perspective of Klara, a robot companion. Jenna Ortega will play the robot Klara in the movie adaption, while Amy Adams will play the mother who purchases it for her daughter.
