Ananya Panday recently appeared on Koffee with Karan season 8 episode 3 alongside Sara Ali Khan on Thursday. When host Karan Johar asked whether she was ‘haunted’ by her previous statements, particularly when she said a couple of years ago that her father, actor Chunky Pandey, had to ‘struggle’ in films and was never invited on Koffee With Karan (KWK), Ananya said she thinks being trolled for such comments is ‘silly’.
As per NDTV, the actress said, “Honestly, I don’t want to sound like I’m victimising myself, saying oh it’s so tough for me. It’s tough for everyone. It’s not easy for anyone in this business no matter at what stage they’re in their careers. All I have ever worked for is validation.”
She also said that she is the daughter of actor Chunkey Panday, who is a ‘huge people-please,’ and that all she has ever wished for is love from those around her. She went on to say that she wants the audience to believe that she is worthy of all the opportunities that she is getting. As she shares her excitement about the work she has been getting, she states that she has felt the love of her fans, but she sometimes feels that she hasn’t gotten the respect she deserves, which she has been working on.
Ananya also said, “I do feel that just because we have grown up in the industry, it’s weird because there are moments of our lives that are just permanently present for people to watch and judge, even though we have changed so much from them. I have changed, and I’m hoping people see that and grow with me and see that change.”
The actress made her first appearance on Karan Johar’s show in 2019. Ananya and her Liger co-star Vijay Deverakonda appeared on Koffee With Karan season 7’s 4th episode last year.
