Angelica Ross accuses Emma Roberts of making transphobic remark on ‘American Horror Story’ set

During an Instagram livestream that was widely shared on X, actress Angelica Ross accused Emma Roberts of transphobic behaviour when they were filming the fan-favourite “American Horror Story: 1984.”

In the very beginning of this widely shared Instagram livestream clip, Ross recalls a moment when Roberts complained to producer and director John J. Gray in a  jokey manner that she was being mean. He replied by saying something like, “Okay ladies, that’s enough. Let’s get back to work.” Then, apparently, Roberts said, “Don’t you mean lady?” before making eye contact with Ross and pivoting in the opposite direction.

Ross then states that this isn’t the first time someone has felt uncomfortable around Roberts on set. She claims that before, another member of the cast or crew spoke out about something similar to what Roberts said or did, only to be reprimanded. As a result, Ross was discouraged from reacting to Roberts’ statement at that time, not wanting to suffer the same fate. Instead, she decided to stop talking to Roberts. “You’ve been playing mind games with everybody on the set,” she says at the end of the video.

After her video went viral, Ross opened up about the matter on the X platform and revealed that Roberts apologized to her.
