Antigua PM committed to send Choksi back to India

On Tuesday (IST) The Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, Geston Browne said, “My administration stands by its request for Dominica to extradite Choksi directly back to India where he is still a citizen.”

The commitment to have Mehul Choksi sent back to India although the mystery continues to revolve over the unconfirmed identity of the woman who had allegedly lured Mehul Choksi, was reiterated by the government of Antigua and Barbuda.

“Choksi changed his lawyer to a well-known member of the UPP; former attorney general under the UPP, Justin Simon. We have it on reliable authority that the UPP had promised Choksi protection, for campaign funding,” he added by attacking the opposition United Progressive Party.

There are several theories about the so-called woman who was seen with Choksi. One of which claims her to be a honey trapped Choksi. A few claims mention her to be an Indian agent. When asked about the same, Browne said he was equipped with no such knowledge.

A few claims also portrays her as a member of the abduction team which “ferried Choksi to Dominica”

“I don’t know anything about the woman who ostensibly was with Choksi claimed that she lured him into abduction at her home.” He added.

He was not aware of any relationship between the Indian diamantaire and UPP, Choksi’s Antiga-based lawyer Justin Simon said later in the night.
