Anurag Kashyap, an Indian film director, writer, editor, producer, and actor known for his works in Hindi cinema, complained of mild chest pain last week.
He is the recipient of several accolades, including four Filmfare Awards. For his contributions to film, the Government of France awarded him the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres in 2013.
Kashyap‘s spokesperson said confirming the news to Indian Express, “Yes, he underwent an angioplasty. He is now recuperating. Thank you for your concern”.
The director finished shooting his upcoming sci-fi thriller Dobaaraa starring Taapsee Pannu in March this year.
He was working on his next film’s post-production from his home in Mumbai. He was last seen sharing screen space with Anil Kapoor in Vikramaditya Motwane’s AK vs AK, which released on Netflix last year.
After the surgery, he has been advised to take a rest for a few weeks before resuming work.
