Apple puts Taiwanese supplier Pegatron on probation for labor violations

Apple is putting one of its longtime suppliers – Pegatron – on probation for violating the iPhone maker’s Supplier Code of Conduct until corrective action is completed. The Cupertino-based tech giant found that the Taiwanese iPhone manufacturer misclassified student workers and permitted some to work nights and overtime in violation of the company’s labour code. Apple also discovered the supplier’s falsified paperwork to disguise violations, Bloomberg reported.
