Apple TV dropped the thrilling first trailer of its new high-stakes drama series Dope Thief

Dope Thief is shaping up to be one of Apple TV+’s most intense and gripping dramas yet. With Ridley Scott at the helm and a powerhouse cast led by Brian Tyree Henry and Wagner Moura, the series promises a thrilling blend of crime, deception, and raw emotional stakes.

The trailer immediately sets the tone, showing Ray (Tyree Henry) and Manny (Moura) at two different points in their lives—youthful delinquents on a bridge and hardened criminals in the present day. This juxtaposition hints at a deep, complex friendship that will be tested as the story unfolds.

Their scheme to pose as DEA agents and rob a countryside home seems like just another con—until it goes horribly wrong. They accidentally stumble upon a major narcotics operation, setting off a deadly chain of events. “We went to the wrong house,” Tyree Henry’s character grimly states, as chaos erupts around them.

Burning the house down doesn’t erase their mistake. Instead, it puts a target on their backs, as a ruthless drug lord makes it clear: You took our money and dope. Now, I have to kill everybody you know.

As they fight to protect themselves and their families, their friendship faces its toughest challenge. Will loyalty prevail, or will one of them crack under pressure and betray the other?

With Gladiator director Ridley Scott as executive producer and The Batman and Top Gun: Maverick writer Peter Craig as creator, Dope Thief has all the makings of a high-stakes, edge-of-your-seat thriller.

The series is set to premiere on March 14, 2025, exclusively on Apple TV+.
