AR Rahman sends legal notice to ‘all slanderers’ in spite of divorce controversy

Music composer AR Rahman has sent a legal notice to “all slanderers.” He shared a legal letter on Instagram on Saturday, November 23, requesting that all YouTube channels take down recordings that discussed his alleged affair with his bassist Mohini Dey.

Rahman and Mohini both made announcements about their separation from the partners within hours of one another earlier this week, which sparked speculations and conspiracy theories regarding their affair.

After over thirty years of marriage, Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman and his wife Saira have made the decision to part ways. Vandana Shah, their attorney, affirmed that the decision was reached amicably and underlined how crucial it is to protect the family’s privacy during this trying time.

“The divorce is still pending. Both of them are represented by me. I can’t tell you why, but it’s a 29-year marriage. Every marriage experiences ups and downs. Although it is a shared decision, it is a painful one. At this time, it is imperative to respect the privacy of the family,” Vandana told ANI.

Initially, Saira’s attorney, Vandana Shah, released a joint statement with the news. According to the pair, they made their choice because of “major differences.”
