Ariana Grande and Kathryn Hahn are the ‘Glinda All Along’ we didn’t know we needed and their interaction is everything

2024 has truly been a magical year for fans of witches, with a lineup of captivating characters taking center stage. Kathryn Hahn returned to her iconic role as Agatha Harkness from WandaVision in the highly anticipated spinoff, Agatha All Along. Meanwhile, Ariana Grande brought Glinda the Good Witch to life in the first part of the musical adaptation of Wicked. Though their characters exist in separate fictional universes, the real-world meeting of Hahn and Grande turned out to be the crossover fans never knew they needed.

In Agatha All Along, Agatha was back to her scheming ways, determined to reclaim her magical powers after being trapped by Wanda Maximoff. Hahn elevated the character even further with dazzling new musical numbers and a wardrobe full of show-stopping outfits, proving why she’s a fan favorite. On the other hand, Grande charmed audiences as Glinda, perfectly embodying the bubbly Good Witch. Her performance alongside Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba in Wicked was a dream come true for musical lovers, setting the stage for the second part of the adaptation.

While Glinda and Agatha can’t share the screen, fans got a taste of what a real-life crossover could look like when Hahn and Grande crossed paths at the Golden Globes First-Time Nominee Luncheon on December 17, 2024. The event, which included stars like Pamela Anderson and Zoe Saldana, was dominated by the heartwarming interaction between these two enchanting women. In videos shared online, Grande enthusiastically told Hahn, “I have loved you forever. I love you so much.” Variety captured the moment perfectly, captioning it, “two witches walk into a bar.”

Fans couldn’t contain their excitement. Comments ranged from “THE DUO I NEEDED” to “This is the season of the witch, and we are LIVING for it!” Another fan hilariously dubbed the meeting “the queer media they speak of” and their personal “multiverse of madness.”

Grande stunned at the event in a vintage 1959 champagne satin Christian Dior gown by Yves Saint Laurent. She accessorized with Swarovski jewelry, beige Jimmy Choo pumps, and sheer tights, completing the look with light makeup, brown lips, and her signature ponytail. Hahn, in contrast, opted for chic comfort, wearing an oversized olive pleated blazer and matching pants paired with gold metallic heels. Her natural makeup and curly hair added a relaxed elegance to her look.

Hahn’s Agatha All Along also delighted cinephiles with its nods to The Wizard of Oz. In episode 7, Agatha transformed into Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, during a trial on the Witches’ Road. Agatha even humorously claimed that the original Wizard of Oz drew inspiration from her. Other clever references included calling another character “Toto” and aligning members of the witch coven with Dorothy’s iconic companions.

While we may never see Glinda and Agatha interact on-screen, their real-life encounter brought a missing spark of magic to 2024—leaving fans thrilled and wishing for more.
