Arizona teenager arrested for open firing at people in Phoenix area

As per the court documents released on Friday, due to involvement in another shooting, an Arizona teenager told the police that he believed that people were after him, that said, he injured a dozen people along with killing one during a 90-minute string of drive-by shootings in metropolitan Phoenix. In at least eight unrelated shootings in three cities, Ashin Tricarico, 19, is accused of opening fire on vehicles and pedestrians from a white SUV on Thursday thereby triggering fear throughout the region.

According to the police, the accused thought that every vehicle and person he drives past is pointing a gun at him. For seeking confirmation of Tricarico’s account of an earlier shooting, the Phoenix police did not immediately return a message from the Associated Press.

The accused was directed to contact a public defender after appearing remotely for a court hearing on Friday and was arrested on Thursday. First-degree murder, aggravated assault, shooting from a vehicle and endangerment are the charges which shall be faced by Tricarico whose next court hearing is on 24th June.

In some cases, he placed a barrel of an assault rifle through his window after pulling up beside the vehicle and fired multiple shots at them as per the police. In one case, the front windshield and driver’s door were hit by a vehicle in which a three-year-old child was with her mother who heard 3 gunshots while driving and was covered in blood after she felt pain in her arm, stomach and head, as said by the witness.
