Armie Hammer recently addressed a past hunting experience where he ate part of an animal’s heart, explaining it as a long-standing hunting tradition. On The Louis Theroux Podcast, he clarified that it was not an act of cannibalism but rather a ceremonial part of hunting, where one takes a symbolic bite of the heart in the presence of friends, often goading the individual who is participating. Hammer made sure to differentiate this ritual from the controversial allegations he’s faced.
The actor has been at the center of a scandal since 2021, when explicit messages allegedly sent by him—detailing violent sexual fantasies and references to cannibalism—surfaced. These revelations sparked widespread attention, and later that year, he was also accused of sexual assault. The accusations were explored in the House of Hammer docuseries, but the Los Angeles County District Attorney decided not to indict him due to insufficient evidence.
Despite the controversies that led to his fall from Hollywood, with his career effectively put on hold, Hammer is set to make his return in an upcoming project, Frontier Crucible, directed by Travis Mills.
