Arsenal could go head to head against Barcelona in the race to sign International striker Yuri Alberto this summer, the gunners were initially interested in him when he was at Santos in 2017, but could not strike the deal for him at that time.
Alberto joined Internacional last summer from Santos and has helped the Brazilian club to register an impressive tally of 17 goals and two assists in his 49 appearances for the club. The gunners revived their interest in the striker but they will be facing competition from Spanish giants FC Barcelona in signing him. Alberto has an EU passport that has caught the eye of the Spanish club and that will also boost his chances of getting a work permit to play in Europe.
Arsenal has been searching for another striker amidst Aubameyangs exit talk, Gunners haven’t been able to play according to their levels and have struggled in the European competition and the Premier League. They are out of the European competition for next season after a disappointing 8th finish in the Premier League. Several players have been linked to a move from Arsenal so they will need to get some quality players to revive their hopes for the next season.
The Brazilian club, Internacional could be asking for €15 million for their prized asset but could demand up to €20 million if the bidding battle gets hot.
