Arsenal keep Premier League dream alive with 6-0 win against Sheffield United

Arsenal made history with a 6-0 thrashing of Sheffield United on Monday, keeping them on the tails of Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League title race.

Martin Odegaard, Jayden Bogle’s own goal, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz and Declan Rice put the visitors up 5-0 at halftime, with Ben White completing the scoring.

Mikel Arteta’s team became the first in English Premier League history to win three consecutive away games by five or more goals.

On the other hand, Sheffield United also set a new record as they became the first English premier league club to concede five goals or more in three consecutive home games.

Arsenal’s incredible streak of 31 goals in seven consecutive Premier League wins since the winter break has given them a significant edge over their opponents if the title is decided on goal difference. They are still only two points behind leaders Liverpool and one behind the reigning champions, City, in third place.

Arteta’s side, on the other hand, can move top with a win at home against Brentford on Saturday, before facing Liverpool and City at Anfield on Sunday.
