ASAP Rocky and Rihanna recently welcomed their second baby, but a legal dispute involving the new father has surfaced. According to reports, the rapper facing serious legal problems.
As per TMZ, ASAP, originally known as Rakim Athelaston Mayers, is now involved in a defamation case brought by ASAP Relli, whose real name is Terell Ephron, his former collaborator.
The lawsuit revolves around claims made by Relli that Rocky shot him during a fight in Hollywood in November 2021. Joe Tacopina, Rocky’s lawyer, is said to have launched an aggressive public relations campaign to these allegations in order to safeguard his client’s reputation.
Relli claims in the complaint that Rocky’s lawyer went too far in defending the rapper. Tacopina, according to Relli, went on a public relations campaign following his claimed shooting incident with A$AP Rocky, which ended in defamation of Relli’s character.
He claims that the lawyer’s public statements to the media have portrayed him as untrustworthy and money-hungry.
“Rocky didn’t commit a crime,” Tacopina stated in a statement to TMZ that is included as evidence in the case. “It was an extortion attempt by a former associate, who threatened to make false, criminal accusations if Rocky didn’t pay him.”
Relli contends that as a result of the alleged attack, he received several death threats and became the target of mocking. As a remedy, he is demanding unspecified damages.
