Ashley Tisdale recently shared a funny parenting moment on the Breaking Beauty Podcast when her 3-year-old daughter, Jupiter, mistook her High School Musical co-star Zac Efron for her dad, Christopher French. Tisdale recalled that her husband introduced their daughter to the Disney Channel classic about a year ago, which she wasn’t quite prepared for. “She has seen High School Musical. I think about a year ago, maybe my husband showed her it. I was like, ‘What are you doing?’”
To Tisdale’s surprise, Jupiter thought Zac Efron, who played Troy Bolton in the movie, was her father. “She thought Zac Efron was her dad,” Tisdale laughed, explaining, “I was like, ‘No, that’s not Daddy.’” Tisdale had to clear up the mix-up, saying, “Just cause they have dark hair, it’s not Daddy.”
While Jupiter is starting to understand more about her mom’s public life, she’s still curious about why strangers approach Tisdale for photos. Tisdale admitted that she didn’t quite know how to answer her daughter’s questions. “She did start to get to the age where she’s questioning why people take pictures with me. And I truly did not know how to answer that. I just said, ‘I don’t know,’ and my husband goes, ‘That’s what you said?’”
Tisdale added that her daughter probably thinks taking pictures with people is just something she does. Despite her public career, Tisdale never considered Efron a romantic interest, even with the on-screen chemistry between their characters. Instead, she always viewed him as more of a little brother.
Tisdale and French, who have been married since 2014, welcomed their second daughter, Emerson Clover, in September.
