Assam: Teenagers found hanging from tree, family members alleges rape and murder

Two teenage minor girls, around 14 and 16 years of age were found hanging from the tree on Sunday, June 13 as reported by NDTV news.

The family members have alleged that the minor teens were raped and killed. These two minor teenagers were related to each other, cops claims.

Notably, the teenagers were aunt and niece in relation and found hanging from the tree in a forest in Kokrajhar, said by the cops.

The bodies have been sent for postmortem reports, and however the cops are waiting for the autopsy reports to find out whether it whether it was suicide or rape and murder, as clearly alleged by the family.

Notably, the case has been registered and 4 people have been detained so far relating to the case.

“We are looking at all possible angles, but the post-mortem report will give us something conclusive. We are waiting for it. Meanwhile our investigation would continue,” SS Panesar, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kokrajhar said, via NDTV reports.

A senior police officer stated that a case has registered and preliminary investigation suggest that two girls suspectedly ended their lives. Police will be able to tell more only after receiving forensic reports.

Assam Chief Minister, Himanta Biswas will be visiting the village today to have an analysis of the situation, said by officials.
