Australian pacer Pat Cummins won’t return for KKR in the upcoming remainder of IPL 2021

The Australian bowler will not be heading to the UAE to take part in the remaining matches of IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). This news gives another blow for KKR after the resumption of the Indian Premier League. As per the report in the Sydney Morning Herald, Pat Cummins had already made it clear that he would not be taking part in the remainder of the IPL. The reason for this decision has not been revealed.

The report also said that David Warner and Pat Cummins could be rested from the West Indies tour due to family reasons while others could follow after a draining year in several bubbles and despite Pat Cummins is a multimillion-dollar IPL player which has already said that he won’t return to the T20 tournament this season.

In the official release in which the BCCI said that the decision to move the tournament to UAE was due to the monsoon season in India during the month of September-October. The BCCI press release also added that the BCCI SGM further authorized the office bearers to seek an extension of time from the ICC to take an appropriate call on the hosting of ICC T20 World Cup 2021.
