Badass Ravikumar or Loveyapa: Which film will cross the ₹10 crore mark first?

One week has passed since the release of Junaid Khan-Khushi Kapoor’s theatrical debut movie Loveyapa and Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravikumar. Here is Sacnilk’s assessment of the films’ first week’s performance.

According to the website, Loveyapa earned ₹0.3 crore and Badass Ravikumar earned ₹0.26 crore on Thursday, bringing their respective totals to ₹8.11 crore and ₹6.45 crore, respectively, based on preliminary estimates. Although the Himesh-starring picture made more than the Junaid-Khush-starring film did at the time of its release (₹2.75 crore compared to ₹1.15 crore), both films lost steam during the week and made less than ₹1 crore every day.

Over the weekend, Loveyapa made ₹1.65 crore and ₹1.75 crore, while Badass Ravikumar made ₹2 crore and ₹1.4 crore. But on Thursday, Loveyapa outperformed Badass Ravikumar in terms of occupancy, with 7.29% compared to 5.70%.

Badass Ravikumar, a musical action film produced by Himesh Reshammiya Melodies, is the second installment in the Xposé Universe and a spin-off of the 2014 film The Xposé. It also features supporting performances from Prabhu Deva, Kirti Kulhari, Simona J, Saurabh Sachdeva, Sanjay Mishra, and Johnny Lever. With Vicky Kaushal and Rashmika Mandanna’s film Chhaava hitting theatres on February 14, things appear to be bleak for both films.

Loveyapa, a remake of Pradeep Ranganathan’s Tamil film Love Today, is the first cinematic release of Aamir Khan’s older son, Junaid, and the late Sridevi’s younger daughter, Khushi. It is produced by Madhu Mantena and Srishti Behl’s Phantom Films, who previously made their acting debuts with Siddharth P. Malhotra’s 2024 period drama Maharaj and Zoya Akhtar’s 2023 period coming-of-age musical The Archies on Netflix last year.
