Badshah apologises for objectionable lyrics in ‘Tateeree’

Badshah, a singer-songwriter, made an apology after his latest song “Tateeree” was accused of having offensive lyrics about women and minors, and stated that the tune has been removed from all platforms. The 40-year-old musician, known for songs like “Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai” and “Genda Phool,” posted a video to Instagram on Saturday.

“My new song has been published, and I am noticing that the lyrics and visual portrayal have caused a lot of people, particularly in Haryana, a lot of pain. First and foremost, I would want to introduce myself. I am from Haryana. Those who know me will tell you that it is vital to my identity. “I’m a proud Haryanvi,” he says in the video. Badshah stated that the tune was created with the intention of uplifting Haryana’s culture and never to harm anyone.

“I never intended or aimed to speak about any Haryana women or children in this manner. I’m from the hip hop genre, thus the lyrics are frequently added to bring the competition down. This was not intended for ladies or children. I’ve always attempted to improve Haryana’s culture in whichever way I could. However, if this has caused any harm to anyone, I would like to express my heartfelt regrets. I hope you would consider me Haryana’s son, your own son, and forgive me,” he stated.

Police launched a FIR on Friday under various provisions of the law in response to a complaint filed by a Panchkula resident citing the use of offensive lyrics and imagery in Badshah’s newly released music video. Additionally, notices were given to delete the video from all social media networks.
