FC Barcelona and Spanish legend, Andres Iniesta is likely to make his next transfer to the Middle East. Following his move to the Japanese club Vissel Kobe, Iniesta is expected to join the UAE club Emirates FC, located in Ras-Al-Khaimah. His contract is set to be valid until 2024, although it can be extended for one more year.
Iniesta, a four-time Champions League, World Cup and Euros champion, is expected to join Emirates FC, a newly promoted club. Back in the 2021-2022 season, the team was demoted from the first-division competition, also known as the UAE Pro League. But it didn’t take long for them to return to the first division after just one season.
The Spaniard was rumoured to reunite with FC Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, but instead, he chose to move to the UAE.
After leaving FC Barcelona, Iniesta moved to the Japanese club Vissel Kobe, where he went on to make 134 appearances. During his five-year stay with the club, he scored 26 goals and made 25 assists.
During his time at Vissel Kobe, Iniesta won two titles for the team. In 2019, he won the Japanese Cup and in 2020, he won the Japanese Super Cup. The renowned midfielder also had a one-off appearance in the AFC Champions League and also managed to score a goal.
