Despite Nepal’s impressive batting and a massive total of 206, Netherlands defeated the host team by 209 for 7 with three wickets and three balls spared in the tri-nation T20 series. It was once again Kushal Bhurtel, who did the job with the bat for Nepal. He played a promising knock of 62 off 46 balls including a fast knock by Dipendra Singh, who scored a 60 0f 30 balls.
However, Nepal’s batting was over-powered by Netherlands right-handed all-rounder Bas de Leede, who played a destructive inning of 81 runs of 42 balls not out. He was fairly supported by Ben Cooper (55) and Netherlands skipper Pieter Seelaar (31).
Leede not only scored the maximum runs for his team but also contributed with a wicket in his three overs spell for 33 runs. Apart from this, the all-rounder took 2 good catches for his team including the important wicket of Kushal Bhurthel. Bas de Leede was awarded the man of the match for his all over performances.
Although Nepal lost the match it continued to top the points table because of its impressive net run rate. Followed by the Netherlands in second place and Malaysia backing last in the tri-nation T20 series.
