Bayern Munich’s efforts in pursuing Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane appear to have paid off. The Bavarian giants have been reported to have reached a deal with Tottenham Hotspur to sign Kane, 30, this summer. As per The Athletic, the Premier League club has accepted Bayern Munich’s offer for Kane, which is worth more than €100 million (£86.4 million). According to the report, Kane’s decision to leave his boyhood club this summer is now entirely up to him.
Three of Bayern Munich’s offers for Harry Kane have already been turned down. In June, the Bundesliga champion club put in their first official offer for Kane. Media reports claim that Spurs chairman Daniel Levy turned down Bayern Munich’s £86 million bid for Kane.
If they are successful in signing Harry Kane, Bayern Munich will break their previous transfer record. The record-breaking transfer for the German team is still French defender Lucas Hernandez. In 2019, Bayern Munich paid Atletico Madrid €80 million for Hernandez.
Kane participated completely in Tottenham’s pre-season summer tour to Australia and Singapore. He scored 4 goals in his team’s 5-1 victory over Shakhtar Donetsk.
Harry Kane scored 280 goals in 435 games for Tottenham Hotspur. Kane has 213 goals in 320 Premier League appearances. Kane is presently 48 goals away from breaking Alan Shearer’s record as the Premier League’s highest scorer.
