The Indian Premier League is one of the most popular and premier T20 league in the world. The 14th edition of the tournament is currently being played.
However IPL 2022 is hoped to see a major change in the competition. There are speculations that the league is going to be much bigger and with introduction of new teams increasing the total from eight to ten.
To give a tough competition to IPL the England and Wales Cricket Board has come up with a new plan of introducing 100- ball game format, and the tournament itself will be called as ‘The Hundred’. It will also be a franchise based competition.
As of now, none of the Indian players would be a part of The Hundred as its seen that BCCI is more keen towards keeping the Indian players exclusive to IPL.
However, there are talks that BCCI may allow U-23 category players to participate in The Hundred. BCCI is expected to introduce a detailed circular regarding the same in the upcoming months.
