Madhya Pradesh has the largest number of national parks in India and also has the largest population of tigers in the country. Kanha National Park

This National Park is famous amongst tourists for its splendid and magnificent landscapes. It is also said that the inspiration for The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling is this park only. It has everything from plants to animals and birds. It is quite famous for the presence of the exotic Royal Bengal Tigers.

Other animals that are found here include panther, sambar, chital, barasingha, Barking deer, etc. Some important bird species found here are the Asian paradise flycatcher, white-bellied drongo, white-rumped shama and spangled drongo, etc.

Panna National Park

It is the most beautiful national park in Madhya Pradesh and the speciality of this park is the flowing Ken River right through the middle of the park. The boat ride, elephant safari, and jeep safari is the best activity that every visitor should enjoy. The major directions of this place are Mahama Prannathji temple, Ajay Garh Fort, Ken gharial sanctuary, Raneh falls, etc.

Bandhavgarh National Park

It has the largest number of Royal Bengal tigers in the world. It is also home to many migratory birds and over 300 species of flora and fauna. Khajuraho group of temples are also located in the close vicinity of the park. Other animals found here include Leopards, barking deer, boar, Bengal fox, ratel, striped hyena, sambar, nilgai, gaur, Asiatic jackal, etc.

The park is roughly 4.5 hour’s drive from Jabalpur and it is very well connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc.

Madhav National Park

It is spread over an area of 375 sq. km and it is one of the most beautiful national parks in Madhya Pradesh. This place used to be the hunting grounds of earlier kings and emperors. Sakhya Sagar Lake runs through the park and the area near it is the hotspot for animals and birds.

The park is so big that national highways passed through this park and it has many small ponds along with a major reservoir. At the top of the Madhav National Park, George Castle is located which was built by Madhavrao Scindia.
