Best places in South India that you need to explore this monsoon

India is known for its diversity in almost all the spheres concerned with human beings’ lifestyles. There is diversity in culture, people, food, places, and seasons. There are mainly four seasons in India and the climate of India is considered to be a monsoon type.

Different parts of the country receive rainfall during different times of the year and therefore, during the monsoon season of July to September, the Southern part of India offers some of the best tourist destinations to explore.

Munnar

Munnar is famous for its beautiful topography and it is one of the most preferred tourist destinations in Kerala. The place is known for its tea gardens, waterfalls, lakes, lush-green vegetation, etc. It is said that it looks like heaven during the monsoon season. It might not be a great idea to do sightseeing during the monsoon season as it gets quite slippery. However, you can visit most of the places with a local guide and get a good view of the nearby areas if you get a room with a balcony in your hotel.

Chikmagalur

Chikmagalur is located in the western part of Karnataka and it is known to the rest of India for its famous Baba Budan Giri ranges and coffee plantations.

During the monsoon season, the temperature varies from 20°C to 34°C. It is located at the foothills of the Mullayanagiri ranges and is known as the land of coffee.

Allepey

The place is known for its backwaters and greenery that is present all year round. Most of the tourists prefer enjoying backwater cruising in a houseboat during their stay at Alleppey. During the monsoon season, the temperature ranges from 17°C to 32°C on average.

Yeracud

It is located in the Salem district of Tamil Nadu and though it is not very popular among the tourists, it is not second to Ooty or other places in Tamil Nadu. It is a hill station and the average temperature during the monsoon season varies from 20°C to 25°C.

Poovar

Poovar lies in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Tamil Nadu and the climate during the monsoon season is quite rainy and the temperature ranges from 23°C to 30°C. And because it is almost the Southern tip of Trivandrum Puram, it lies very close to the beach that attracts tourists all year round.

Poovar is also the type of island which is known for its virgin natural beauty that houses many magnificent and splendid rivers, lakes, forests, and other landscapes. The place also offers many kinds of adventurous activities for the tourists such as boating, playing at the beach, swimming, etc.
