Best Precautions for Covid-19 Virus

COVID-19 is a highly contagious disease, so protecting yourself becomes increasingly difficult when you have a Coronavirus positive patient at home. Unless there are any medical complications, most people isolate themselves at home when they test positive. Aside from caring for the COVID-19 patient and monitoring their oxygen levels, it is also critical that you care for and protect yourself from the disease.

Wearing a mask and washing your hands are just a few of the things you should do to protect yourself from the infection. So here is a list of precautions you must take if you have a COVID-19 patient at home.

Put on a mask.

When you’re near a COVID-19 patient, put on a mask. Keep a minimum of 6 feet away from the infected person. When wearing your mask, avoid touching or fiddling with it. After using the mask, throw it away and wash your hands before and after touching it.

Kindly wash your hands.

Make it a habit to wash your hands thoroughly or use a hand sanitizer to properly clean your hands. This is especially important if you have had direct contact with the patient or have been in the same room with him or her. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.

Separate utensils should be used.

For the patient, use separate glasses, plates, spoons, and cups. Please do not mix these utensils with those of the other members of the household. Wear a mask and gloves while doing the dishes, and wash them in hot water. After doing the dishes, thoroughly wash your hands.

Surfaces should be clean.
Surfaces that are frequently touched, such as switches, remote controls, doorknobs, and so on, should be cleaned with a surface disinfectant on a regular basis.

Keep track of your health.
If you are caring for a COVID-19 patient, you should monitor your own health as well as the patient’s. Examine for symptoms such as a cough, fever, shortness of breath, and so on. If you come into contact with the patient, you should quarantine yourself at home for 14 days.
