Bhumi Pednekar recalls having crush on Imran Khan ahead of first film together

Bhumi Pednekar and Imran Khan are set to collaborate for the first time in Danish Aslam’s upcoming romantic dramedy Adhoore Hum Adhoore Tum, a project that has already begun drawing attention for more than one reason. While the film marks Bhumi and Imran’s first on-screen pairing, it also signals Imran Khan’s comeback to cinema after a decade-long break from acting.

Imran first captured the imagination of audiences with his debut film Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na in 2008, where his boy-next-door charm earned him instant popularity. Interestingly, Bhumi Pednekar was among those who were left impressed back then. Speaking recently to The Indian Express, the actor revealed that she had a big crush on Imran during that phase and admired his screen presence and personality.

Recalling the moment that stood out for her, Bhumi shared that she once came across a Vogue cover featuring Imran years after his debut and found herself curious about the kind of films he would return with. She admitted that she had long wished to be part of a romantic film in that space, making the offer of Adhoore Hum Adhoore Tum feel unexpectedly full circle.

Bhumi described the film as an evolved take on the romantic genre, calling it raw, real and emotionally grounded. The project is also special for Imran as it reunites him with director Danish Aslam, who had earlier directed him in Break Ke Baad alongside Deepika Padukone.
