Bipasha Basu shares powerful message on women’s strength after old Mrunal Thakur video resurfaces

Bipasha Basu has addressed the outdated mindset that women should not appear physically strong, days after an old video of Mrunal Thakur making remarks about her went viral.

In the past few days, a throwback clip from Mrunal Thakur’s Kumkumbhagya days has been widely shared on social media. In the video, Mrunal was seen saying, “Do you want to marry a girl who is manly with muscles? Go marry Bipasha. Listen, I am far better than Bipasha, ok.” The remarks have sparked online chatter, with many connecting it to Bipasha’s recent online post.

On Wednesday, Bipasha took to her Instagram Stories to share a quote that read, “Strong women lift each other up.” She followed it with a caption that encouraged women to embrace physical strength. “Get those muscles beautiful ladies, we should be strong. Muscles help you attain good physical and mental health forever! Bust the age-old thought process that women should not look strong or be physically strong,” she wrote. The post ended with a short note saying, “love yourself.”

While Bipasha did not mention Mrunal by name, the timing of the post has led fans to link it to the resurfaced video. Mrunal, however, has not responded to the matter.

On the work front, Mrunal Thakur was recently seen in Son of Sardaar 2, a comedy entertainer headlined by Ajay Devgn that released on August 1. Despite the buzz, the film received mixed reviews and struggled at the box office.

The actor will next appear in Dacoit: A Love Story and also has Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai lined up with Varun Dhawan and Pooja Hegde, which is scheduled for release in 2026.
