BJP chief JP Nadda claims to have support of 38 political parties; Leaders to attend NDA meeting

In an apparent bid to counter the opposition’s meeting in Bengaluru, the ruling party BJP will be hosting a meet of their NDA allies and other allies in Delhi on Tuesday. The opposition parties are invited by Congress to attend a two day meet, which shows their grand unity, both in terms of numbers and optics, on July 17 and 18. The opposition party meeting will be attended by leaders representing 26 parties, while the NDA meeting will be having representatives from 38 parties.

“In the last nine years, the reach and scope of the NDA has increased; in the pursuit of our development agenda in the Indian polity, the NDA has become popular among the voters as well as parties,” stated JP Nadda.

Despite of losing many traditional allies in the last nine years, such as Telugu Desam Party, Janata Dal (United), Shiromani Akali Dal, and Shiv Sena, the BJP has in the last one month mounted a concerted effort to bring on board many regional and sub-regional parties to stitch an alternative narrative.
