The sequel to A Simple Favor, titled Another Simple Favor, is set to premiere on Prime Video on Thursday, May 1, 2025, following its world premiere at the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival on March 7. Directed again by Paul Feig, the film will bring back Blake Lively as Emily Nelson and Anna Kendrick as Stephanie Smothers, along with returning cast members Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, Joshua Satine, Ian Ho, and Kelly McCormack.
The film picks up with Stephanie and Emily traveling to Italy for Emily’s opulent wedding to a wealthy businessman, where things take a darker turn with the promise of mystery, betrayal, and murder. The tone promises to be in line with the original film’s mix of dark humor, suspense, and drama, with a thrilling storyline that includes a glamorous setting and plenty of twists.
However, the buzz around Another Simple Favor has been shadowed by recent controversy surrounding Blake Lively. She has been involved in a legal dispute with Justin Baldoni, her co-star and director in It Ends With Us, where she has accused Baldoni of sexual harassment. Baldoni, on the other hand, has countered with claims that Lively attempted to harm his career. Despite these developments, the anticipation for the sequel remains strong due to the original film’s success and the return of the beloved stars.
With the SXSW premiere coming in early March and the streaming release in May, Another Simple Favor is set to draw a lot of attention when it debuts.
