Bobby Deol is in a golden phase of his career, but the actor has faced his share of personal battles. In a recent interview, the Animal star spoke candidly about overcoming alcohol addiction, calling it “even more addictive than drugs.” The actor revealed how quitting drinking not only improved his mental and physical well-being but also strengthened his relationships.
During his conversation with Bombay Times, Bobby shared, “Yes, I have, and it has really helped me. Everyone is genetically different, and no one realises how any kind of intoxication can affect you. Some people have those genes where you get addicted to things. I just decided that God has given me a second chance, and I really, really want to do my best. The voice has to come from within.”
He further reflected on his journey, admitting that he turned to alcohol during the low phase of his career. However, he now feels more grounded and focused, saying, “I think I’m a better person after I stopped drinking, and my relationship has become a hundred times better with everyone I know.”
Professionally, Bobby Deol continues to shine. After winning hearts with Class of ’83, Aashram, and Animal, he recently impressed audiences in Aryan Khan’s directorial debut The Ba***ds of Bollywood. Up next, he will be seen in Alpha alongside Alia Bhatt and Sharvari and in the Tamil political thriller Jana Nayagan with Thalapathy Vijay.
