Renowned filmmaker Subhash Ghai has assured fans of his well-being following his admission to Lilavati Hospital for health concerns. The 79-year-old Bollywood legend, known for iconic films like Karz and Khalnayak, shared a positive health update on social media.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Ghai expressed gratitude for the outpouring of love and concern. “I feel so blessed to know that I have so many friends expressing their love and affection for my health. After my hectic stint at IFFI Goa, ALL IS WELL NOW and see you soon. SMILE AGAIN. Thank you,” he wrote.
A statement from his team clarified that the hospitalisation was for a routine annual check-up, a practice the filmmaker follows due to his busy schedule. “Nothing to worry about. We do this every year so doctors can run all necessary tests properly. He is absolutely fine,” a close family source confirmed to ANI.
Ghai, whose contribution to Indian cinema includes classics like Ram Lakhan and Taal, recently made headlines at the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. He showcased his 30-minute docu-drama Gandhi: A Perspective and his book Karma’s Child.
Reflecting on the film’s reception, Ghai shared, “I made it as a responsible citizen, not just as a filmmaker. Everyone says this film should be shown in every school and college.” Fans can now breathe a sigh of relief as the legendary filmmaker looks forward to resuming his engagements.
