Bomb threat on Delhi-Pune Vistara flight prompts evacuation, inspection underway

Passengers on board a Vistara flight from Delhi to Pune were deboarded at the Delhi airport on Friday morning after the airport’s call centre got a call warning about the presence of the bomb in the flight.

According to sources in the airline, all of the passengers, a total of more than 100 people, were requested to wait in the airport after being brought back, and the flight was taken to a remote bay while inspections were being made on it.

The UK-971 flight was scheduled to leave Delhi at roughly 8:30 am and arrive in Pune around 10:40 am. More details are awaited.

Vistara’s spokesperson stated in a statement, “We confirm that the flight UK971, scheduled to fly from Delhi to Pune on 18 August 2023 is delayed due to mandatory security checks. We have been cooperating with the relevant security agencies for the same. In the meanwhile, we are making all efforts to minimize inconvenience to our customers including offering them refreshments.
