In a significant development in the ongoing legal dispute between Palash Muchhal and actor-producer Vidnyan Mane, the Bombay High Court has issued an order restraining Mane from making further statements against the singer.
The interim relief comes after Muchhal filed a ₹10 crore defamation suit against Mane, accusing him of making false and damaging allegations. Confirming the update, Muchhal’s lawyer Shreyansh R Mithare stated that the court has directed Mane to refrain from issuing any statements that could harm the singer’s reputation. The next hearing in the matter is scheduled for March 11.
The legal battle began after Mane alleged that Muchhal had cheated him of ₹40 lakh in connection with the film Nazaria. According to reports, Mane claimed he had shown interest in co-producing the project after meeting Muchhal in December 2023. By March 2025, he allegedly invested ₹40 lakh but did not receive the promised returns when the film remained incomplete.
The dispute escalated further when Mane made personal allegations involving cricketer Smriti Mandhana, including claims related to a cancelled wedding and accusations of infidelity. Following these statements, Muchhal publicly announced legal action, calling the allegations “false, outrageous and highly defamatory.” With the High Court’s recent order, the case has now entered a crucial phase.
