Border 2 grossed around Rs. 2.75 crore nett on its third Friday at the Indian box office. This is a 15% decrease from Thursday and 73% from Friday last week. The drops are on the steep side. By this point, one would expect the business to have stabilised and experienced lesser dips, especially given the lack of substantial competition.
However, this has not occurred, despite the film’s apparent great reaction, which is somewhat perplexing. The film’s total box office collections are around Rs. 278 crore nett. The picture has done well on weekends, but its weekday performance has been a little disappointing.
The third weekend should generate Rs. 13-14 crore nett, bringing the total business to around Rs. 290 crore by Sunday. The picture is on track to comfortably cross Rs. 300 crore nett, but it may not go much higher. Border 2 is a hit film. SUPER HIT appeared to be a foregone conclusion at one point, but it may now be a close call depending on how the film’s late legs go.
Even BLOCKBUSTER seemed a possibility given what it did over its prolonged first weekend, but business dropped over the week, ruling it out. Regardless, this is a fairly solid outcome for the film; the only issue is that expectations were high following the unprecedented success of Gadar 2 in 2023, which it fell short of.
