Another Dortmund player is on his way to the Premier League, as Nottingham Forest has confirmed the loan signing of USMNT start Gio Reyna from Borussia Dortmund until the end of the season.
The club statement from Nottingham Forest reads, “Born in Sunderland, Reyna arrives at The City Ground having made 121 appearances for Dortmund since joining the Bundesliga club from New York City FC in 2019, winning the German Cup with the Black and Yellows in 2021. Gio will wear the number 20 shirt during his time on Trentside.”

Reyna was downgraded to a bench substitute and hardly got any playing time after falling out of favour with Edin Terzic, the manager of Dortmund.
Having been linked to teams like Fiorentina, Nottingham Forest, Sevilla and Marseille, it appears that the American is moving to the Premier League to reinvent himself.
Reyna’s current Dortmund contract runs until June 2025, and the forward signed with super agency Jorge Mendes in December, just before the January transfer market started.
Since making his debut for the USA national team in November 2020, Reyna has made 24 appearances, scored seven goals, and led his nation to two CONCACAF Nations League titles in 2020 and 2023.
