Bosch planning to upgrade Bengaluru facility, to invest Rs.800 crore: Report

German technology and services company Bosch is planning to turn their campus in Bengaluru to fully artificial intelligence of things (AIoT) one, according to a PTI report.

Soumitra Bhattacharya, regional president of Bosch Group in India and managing director of Bosch Ltd, told PTI that the campus will have the second largest number of Bosch employees all over. The campus will manufacture various things like powertools, home appliances, power trains, and automotive aftermarket divisions. Bhattarcharya while addressing a virtual conference said, “This is going to be one of the largest tech centres we have in the world and likely to be the largest outside Europe.” He also spoke about employment in the campus and said, “Already we house more than 3,000 software engineers, which will go up a lot more, maybe towards 10,000 by the time we finish all the building.”

Bosch will complete 100 years of existence in India in June 2022. This is when the campus will be inaugurated. The company has had its base in Karnataka since 1951.
