Box Office: Dhurandhar shows promising growth in early overseas advance bookings

Although some international markets saw tickets go on sale on Saturday, Dhurandhar advances were supposed to start on Sunday in India. The initial response seemed positive. PVRINOX properties opened advances late in the day, even in India; additional circuits are anticipated to join by morning. The movie has sold about 500 tickets in Australia’s largest chain among the early observable numbers.

The movie has sold over a thousand tickets in a very limited supply in the US, with screenings at some of the major Hindi film sites selling out almost half of their available seats. In a day or two, other significant markets including the UK and Canada will open their advances. Given the film’s subject matter, it might not be released in the Middle East.

Naturally, they are currently small figures, and nothing conclusive can be deduced from them just yet. These figures will rise along with the supply in the upcoming days, primarily by Monday and Tuesday, at which point some sort of evaluation might be done. The fact that the early movement demonstrated interest in the movie is crucial.

The local market has recently mimicked the trend of films that have made significant progress abroad. From that perspective, Dhurandhar’s early momentum is encouraging. Despite being a big-budget tentpole, Dhurandhar’s initial appeal was questioned due to its genre restrictions and a more atmospheric than commercial trailer.

However, these early international advancements offer some much-needed respite for the time being. Hopefully, the good trend will continue when full-fledged advances open in India.
