Brazil’s Jair Bolsonaro thanks PM Modi by saying ”dhanyawaad” as India dispatches 2 million vaccine doses

With “namaskar and dhanyawad”, the Indian equivalent of hello and thanks, Brazil President Jair Bolsonaro took to Twitter to laud Prime Minister Narendra Modi for timely export of COVID-19 vaccines. Mr. Bolsonaro said that the country feels honored to have a great partner to overcome the global obstacle of health crisis.

The shipment of two million doses of Covidshield, the Indian variant of Oxford-Astra Zeneca vaccine to fight the deadly Coronavirus, was dispatched from Mumbai on January 22nd. External Affairs Minister, S Jaishankar confirmed the arrival of the vaccines.

Morrocco is also set to receive two million doses of the same vaccine dispatched from Mumbai.

Covidshield vaccine is manufactured by the Pune-based Serum Institute of India which was approved earlier this month. Two million doses to Brazil were carried via Emirates Sky Cargo and to Morocco on Royal Air Maroc.
