As per ANI report, it is announced that, “The preparation for national serosurvey is done and ICMR will begin its work on next serosurvey in this month. He added that not just national serosurvey but even state serosurvey is necessary for to protect the geographies.”
Preparation for national serosurvey done. ICMR will begin work for next serosurvey this month. But if we want to protect our geographies we won't have to depend on national serosurvey alone, we'll have to encourage states for serosurveys too: Dr VK Paul, Member-Health, Niti Aayog pic.twitter.com/cv6x4uH9jf

For the uninitiated, here is a brief about serosurvey:
It is tested that one in five Indians have or had COVID-19 and reveals the latest serosurvey test by ICMR.
This sero studies is popularly known as serosurvey examines on how many people in a population have been infected with COVID-19 and recovered from the same. It is done in a scale that the prevalence of the virus is in a particular area.
This Serosurvey is examined by taking the blood serum in a group of individuals and is tested using an antibody test, also known as a serology test. It also examines if an individual’s immune system has responded to the infection.
Earlier in an interview with NDTV, Dr. Jyosmita Patak, scientist D at Regional medical research centre said, “Iceberg has a visible section which floats above the waterline, however, there is a larger, invisible section sub-merged in the water.”
Further with reference to the iceberg example she stated that in case of number of infections, we just know the number of cases that is reported. But there are cases that are not reported due to various reasons such as asymptomatic infection, or people that didn’t report.
She also added, “sero-survey focusses on that sub-merged portion of the iceberg and tells us what the infection to case ratio.”
In addition to this, Seo-survey’s role for Sero-Positive people is that it breaks the chain of transmission because they have immunity.
