Despite the fact that Britney Spears’ last album was released a long time ago, she is still creating waves in the music industry. The singer joined the ‘Billions Club’ over the weekend after her song Toxic reached a billion streams on Spotify. That’s more than ABBA’s 1976 single Dancing Queen, Whitney Houston’s 1987 hit I Wanna Dance with Somebody and DJ Khaled’s 2017 hit Wild Thoughts. Meanwhile, the singer is enjoying the success of her recently released song Mind Your Business in collaboration with Will.i.am.
Toxic is one of the best-selling songs of all time, thus it comes as no surprise that it is the fourth song in Spotify’s playlist to reach the billion-stream milestone. Taylor Swift’s Anti-Hero likewise reached the billion-stream mark on the same day. Britney’s biggest hit is Toxic, while her second best-selling song on Spotify is Baby One More Time, which has 650 million streams.
Toxic, a song by Britney Spears from her 2003 album In the Zone, was reportedly planned to be a duet with Kylie Minogue. The Australian singer, however, refused the offer.
