Britney Spears’s lawyer demands outlet to take down ‘defamatory report’ about her alleged drug use

The Daily Mail earlier reported that Britney Spears’ ex-husband, Kevin Federline, and estranged father, Jamie Spears, are concerned that she is addicted to crystal meth and may die as a result of an overdose. Reportedly, Jamie said that Spears may end up like Amy Winehouse, who died of alcohol poisoning at the age of 27. While Federline is ‘terrified’ that something could happen to the mother of his kids.

This claim was denied on Sunday by Britney Spears and Kevin Federline. Spears’ lawyer criticised the Daily Mail for publishing such defamatory reports.

Mathew Rosengart, Britney Spears’ attorney, has slammed the reports alleging the singer of using crystal meth and called them ‘false and defamatory’.  Rosengart, according to Page Six, sent a legal letter to the Daily Mail on Sunday. The letter ordered that an internal investigation into Spears’ minor kids, Sean Preston, 17, and Jayden, 16, whom she has with her ex-boyfriend Kevin Federline, be conducted.

Kevin Federline, according to Spears’ attorney Rosengart, had admitted to TMZ that the report was false. Furthermore, the Daily Mail did not contact the Toxic singer’s representative before to publishing the report, implying malice on the part of Daphne Barak, writer of the story.

Mathew Rosengart also asked Daily Mail to delete and quickly retract the false story on Britney Spears, as well as take proper action in this matter.
