Brittany Murphy’s site of death up for sale

The infamous Hollywood home that once belonged to Britney Murphy is now back in the spotlight, with a new owner possibly on the horizon. This mansion, steeped in eerie history, was originally bought by Murphy in 2003 from Britney Spears, who had become convinced the property was haunted after a reiki session allegedly opened a “spirit portal.” Spears was so unnerved by her experiences there that she eventually abandoned the home, leaving it fully furnished for Murphy.

The house became even more infamous after Murphy’s tragic death in 2009, followed by her husband’s, Simon Monjack, passing just months later. Both deaths were ruled accidental but raised numerous questions, especially about the property’s dark energy. To add to the mystery, Monjack’s mother suggested that toxic black mold might have contributed to their health issues, although the theory was dismissed by authorities. Despite this, the house remained tainted by its grim history, with no buyers interested until Sharon Murphy finally sold it for $2.7 million in 2011.

After being torn down and rebuilt in 2013, the property was resold for a substantial $14.53 million in 2017, though it later sold again at a loss in 2020. Recently renovated once again in 2024, the home is now described as a luxurious “private world of luxury” complete with six bedrooms, eight-and-a-half bathrooms, an infinity pool, home cinema, gym, wine closet, and more. With its lavish upgrades, the property now promises an unmatched living experience, though whether the ghosts are still around remains a tantalizing mystery.
