This mansion, steeped in eerie history, was originally bought by Murphy in 2003 from Britney Spears, who had become convinced the property was haunted after a reiki session allegedly opened a “spirit portal.” Spears was so unnerved by her experiences there that she eventually abandoned the home, leaving it fully furnished for Murphy.
The house became even more infamous after Murphy’s tragic death in 2009, followed by her husband’s, Simon Monjack, passing just months later.
