In every budget there are expectations that the Finance Minister will offer some special sops for women. With a woman at the helm of the finance ministry, it is expected that the budget would be more sensitive to women’s needs in an especially trying year.

With the promise of a “Never Before” Budget, women hope there will be assistance provided to them to further increase participation in the financial ecosystem. Benefits that only might just bring them at parity with men. Women earn Rs. 75 for every Rs. 100 earned by a man for the same job is a well-known fact.

Women expect homes and retirement schemes to be cheaper. This will help increase ownership and enable women to be independent, as we talk about being aatma-nirbhar. Women also claimed that they live longer thus, have higher healthcare costs. Exemptions could be increased on the purchase of health insurance products.
