Canadian Muslim family killed as a result of islamic hate crime

In an anti-Islamic hate crime, four members of a Canadian Muslim family were killed when they got run over by a pick-up truck.

In a conversation, Detective Superintendent Paul Waight of the London, Ontario, police department told reporters that they have enough evidence to know that this was a premeditated and planned action that was motivated by hatred and nothing else. He explicitly said that the victims were targeted only because they were Muslims.

The police have arrested a 20-year-old Nathaniel Veltman, on Sunday under the suspicion that he is the attacker. He has been charged with four counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted murder. The police citing witnesses who were present at the time of the accident have said that the truck veered off the road, over the curb, hit the family, and proceeded to drove away at high speed.

Paige Martin, an eyewitness described to reporters how the accident took place. She said that a black truck drove past at a high speed and broke the signal and soon after she saw “chaos.”

This attack is the worst Muslim hate crime that Canada has faced since a man gunned down six members of a Quebec City mosque in 2017.

Following the incident, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Twitter that “Islamophobia has no place in any of our communities. This hate is insidious and despicable – and it must stop.”
