Sales of SUVs and cars by vehicle manufacturers have increased by 16.5% during November and continued for the period after Diwali. Rajesh Menon, Director General SIAM said, the increased sales are a result of festive season purchases and is determining industry’s rising performance. Large volume carmakers like Hyundai, Tata Motors, Kia Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra have confirmed positive sales growth in this period. However, small volume manufacturers like Ford, Nissan Volkswagen and Skoda reported a fall in sales.
